Macro Photography


Macros can be very rewarding. Photographing the very small can open your eyes to a world you may never see otherwise. I spent some time watching "black bugs" crawl around trees in the park, until this closeup revealed a beautifully colored creature. Note how the shallow depth of field gave me considerable focus problems. Only the center of the insect is truly in focus.




The above insect was less than .5 inches and moving very fast. If you have more time you can create sharper macros such as the apple below, taken while eating a leisurely lunch.
